Lorrimor Estate: Professor's Tomes
Professor's Tomes

The chest mentioned in the Professor’s will has been located. He requested as part of his will that the tomes be delivered to Lepidstadt.

The chest contained the following tomes:

Manual of the Order of the Palantine Eye
On Verified Madness
Serving Your Hunger
The Umbral Leaves
The Professor’s Journal

Much time was spent uncovering the nature of these tomes and caused Kendra much distress before she fled, excusing herself for the evening.

Manual of the Order of the Palantine Eye:
This tome is covered by a rich purple cover containing a brass scarab with a solitary eye in its center. This book has been discovered to be the principal works of the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye, a secretive sect. This book covers matters politic and arcane.

On Verified Madness:
This jet-black book is a treatise on aberrations and other entities found on Golarion that possess remote ties to the Dark Tapestry, the name given to the dark places between the stars in the night sky.

Serving Your Hunger:
This text is a copy of one of the several unholy book sacred to the goddess Urgathoa. Lorrimor’s notations liberally sprinkle the margins.

The Umbral Leaves:
This lexicon is a translation into Common of the unholy book of Zon-Kuthon.

Around Town: Spectral Monk
Spectral Monk

A spectral monk appeared before Quincy offering a golden chalice for him to drink. Quincy drank and felt the full effects of the negative energy. Quincy immediately felt better and was healed of his wounds.

The spectral monk was confused, but dissipated for now…

Around Town: Spring-Heeled Jack
Spring-Heeled Jack

The party hears rumors of a jet black small creature that is murdering people at night. Tales told always mention a wicked blade that seems unearthly in nature. Some folks in town believe that Trill could be this creature after seeing her transformation into her true form.

A survivor of one of his attacks has arrived in Ravengro and is making outlandish claims in the Laughing Demon tavern.

Half fable, half truth, Spring-Heeled Jack is the subject of popular gossip as well as mythic folklore. Often said to be a fiend of unknown origins, the cruel-eyed night terror is infamous for his love of trickery and spontaneous bursts of violence. Those who have seen his visage and lived to tell their story often have scars to prove the authenticity of their account, as Spring-Heeled Jack’s menacing knife is almost as famous as he is. By all accounts, Spring-Heeled Jack is a small and roguish-looking man with horns, garbed in a tattered vest, cape, and trousers. However odd his clothing may be, it is generally agreed that the sight of his dreadful cape or even the shadow of his hideously quick movements chills the hearts of men.

Spring-Heeled Jack stands about 4 feet tall and weighs about 80 pounds.

Around Town: Haunted Field
Haunted Field

Numerous glowing, undulating spheres float around a farmer’s field. There is a spooky cold emanation. Solomon uses Channel Positive Energy to reduce the number of spheres. The spheres are reduced but not removed. Word is sent to Father Grimburrow who combined with Solomon’s Channel Positive Energy puts the Haunt to rest.

The party determines that these are the disembodied spirits of livestock that were ritually sacrificed.

Lorrimor Estate: Quincy and Trill
Quincy and Trill

Quincy investigates Professor Lorrimor’s laboratory. He locates the professor’s notes on Trill’s situation as well as his own. Hopefully these notes can be used to create some kind of cure. There is also notes regarding Quincy’s father within the laboratory.

Trill investigates the upper rooms and finds a “tappy tappy” ghost.

Using the Brass Spirit Planchette Quincy and Trill solve the troubles of the “tappy tappy” ghost and put the spirit to rest removing the Haunt.

Trill finds Embreth an intelligent letter opener and loves it dearly.

Around Town: Laughing Demon
Laughing Demon

The adventurers visit the Laughing Demon tavern. Rinthalion orders some fine roasted taters after hearing the other delicacies that Zokar has to offer (vampire steaks, wolfballs, corpse chowder, and liquid ghosts).

While spending some time at the tavern a local musician group begins to play music.

Psychic emanation from Harrowstone occurs and the music calls to two bloody stirges from the nearby woods. These stirges do not attack the musicians but do cause tremendous ability damage to the party while sucking their blood.

Post-fight Rinthalion accuses the musicians of being black sorcerers! He tramples and destroys their instruments that he mistakenly thinks was the source of the stirge invasion. After much discussion and lamenting Rinthalion mends the musician’s instruments for hours while keeping his unwanted elf ears out of sight.

Tracking Hobgoblins
The False Tree

Sheriff Benjen Caeller and his two deputies are approached after the party has been tracking the hobgoblin for most of the day. At the confluence of multiple hobgoblin slaver trails Rinthalion pushes the party to continue on and try and save the abducted smallfolk.

The party comes across a towering tree in a dark twisted forest.

They encounter 6 bugbears, 3 hobgoblin leaders, 8 hobgoblin minions.

Much difficulty is had and the tree catches fire. Riding an intricate escape mechanism Trill lunges onto the last remaining hobgoblin leader far into the air. While in the air Trill’s magic hat is removed but her true form is only visible to Kendra and the Sheriff.

Villagers saved:

  • Councilman Petros Ivanovic and son Androzi Ivanovic
  • Farmer (father of Kaleb the boy Trill befriended in town)
  • Farmer 2+3
  • Pale Lady (Woman, other village, disabused) – from Lastwall
  • Female villager from Ustalav – now “working” at Lorrimor Estate
